Rental Rules & Safety Agreement
Every Shindigz rental comes with a signed contract. No exceptions, no handshake deals, no “we’ll sort it out when you get here.”
We know that sounds stiff for a business built around bounce houses. But a signed agreement is what separates a real rental company from the guy with a unit in his garage it means you know exactly what you’re getting, we know exactly what we’re responsible for, and nobody is guessing about anything on party day.
Here’s what’s in it, in plain English, before you ever see the paperwork.
How signing works
- You book online Pick your units and your date at checkout like normal.
- The contract is attached right at checkout It’s already filled in with your information, your rental date, and the units you selected. Nothing to print, nothing to scan.
- You sign it electronically Takes about a minute on your phone.
- Your booking is confirmed Once it’s signed, we start prepping your order. A rental isn’t final until that signature is in.
You’re the operator here’s what that means
This is the part most people skim, so we’ll put it plainly. While our equipment is at your event, you are the operator. Our crew delivers, sets up, anchors, and tears down but during the rental itself, supervision is yours.
You need at least one adult of average strength supervising each unit, at all times. Not watching from inside the house. Not glancing over from across the yard. Someone whose job that afternoon is watching the inflatable.
That person is responsible for going over the rules with everyone before they get on, enforcing them during the party, and making sure the number and size of riders never exceeds the manufacturer’s posted maximum. We review all of it with you at setup, and the manufacturer’s instructions come with your rental.
If you’d rather not run it yourself, we can provide event staff for an additional charge just arrange it when you book. It isn’t included automatically.
Rules for while it’s in use
Nothing goes inside the unit. Not on the kids, not in their hands. Every one of these stains, tears, or turns the floor into a slip hazard:
- Shoes (socks when indicated)
- Food
- Drinks
- Candy
- Silly string
- Face paint
- Oils
- Glasses
- Jewelry & belts
- Sharp objects
- Animals
Silly string deserves a special mention: it chemically bonds to vinyl and does not come off. It’s the single most expensive mistake we see.
No flips, roughhousing, or climbing. No somersaults or flips. No horseplay in or around the equipment. Nobody climbs, hangs, stands on, or pulls at the sides, tops, or backs of a unit, and nobody crawls under the bottom or the edge.
Don’t attach anything to it.No taping, fastening, or hanging decorations, banners, or anything else on or in an inflatable. This one carries a severe injury risk, which is why it’s in the contract by name.
Keep pets away from the equipment the whole time.We love your dog. Vinyl does not. No animals in or on a unit at any point, and dogs need to be kept away from the equipment for the entire rental period not just while kids are playing. A curious dog and an inflatable left alone for twenty minutes is one of the most common ways units get destroyed.
Two specific things to handle before we arrive:
- Have the yard picked up. Pet waste in the setup area is a health issue for the kids and a cleaning issue for the equipment. It also has to be cleared before our crew can work.
- Secure the gate, or keep pets inside. Our crew is carrying heavy equipment in and out with their hands full. An open gate is how dogs get loose and how people get hurt.
Claw damage is not ordinary wear and tear. Punctures and tears from paws or teeth are billed to the renter at full repair cost or full replacement cost if the unit can’t be repaired. Pet waste on or around a unit falls under the $150 excessive cleaning fee.
This is the one that ends an inflatable permanently, and it comes up more than you’d think around the Fourth of July and New Year’s. Inflatables are vinyl and nylon they don’t just scorch, they melt and spread flame fast, and a single airborne ember can travel a long way before it lands.
So the rule is simple: nothing that makes a flame, spark, or ember within 100 feet of the equipment. That includes:
- Fireworks
- Sparklers
- Cold spark machines
- Candles
- Grills & smokers
- Fire pits
- Patio heaters
- Lanterns
- Smoking
If fireworks are part of your event, that’s fine just get everyone off the unit first and keep the distance. Plan the two things to happen in different parts of the yard, or at different times.
Fire and ember damage is never ordinary wear and tear. A single spark hole means full repair cost, and a melted panel means full replacement cost of the unit. This is the most expensive mistake anyone can make with our equipment, and it’s entirely avoidable.
No water or hoses near a dry inflatable. If one does get wet, an adult needs to wipe it down and make sure it’s dry before anyone gets back on. Water units waterslides, slip and slides, dunk tanks are the exception, obviously.
Don’t move it, and don’t touch the anchors or blower.Once our crew has placed and anchored a unit, it stays exactly where it is. Anchors don’t come out during use. Never try to relocate, adjust, or service a blower. Only Shindigz staff and our authorized contractors set up, secure, take down, or pack up equipment.
Everybody out if the weather turns.Never use a unit during high or gusty winds, thunderstorms, or lightning. Inflatables can turn over in high wind even when properly anchored, and that’s how people get seriously hurt. If severe weather hits during your rental, get everyone off, unplug the unit, let it deflate, and don’t use it again until the weather has passed.
If the blower stops or the unit starts to deflate
Get everyone off first, then check these in order:
- Check the motor and the plug If the motor has stopped, make sure the cord hasn’t been unplugged at the outlet, and check the circuit breaker.
- Check the air intake and tubes If the motor is still running, look for a blockage on the air intake screen on the side of the blower, and check that both air tubes on the back of the unit are snug. Tighten the ties if they aren’t.
- Re-inflate fully before anyone gets back on If that fixed it, let it come all the way back up first.
- Still not right? Call us. 470-742-8702. Don’t let anyone back on until it’s sorted.
Call us while the problem is happening. If equipment malfunctions and we aren’t told in time to fix it, no credits or reschedules can be issued afterward. One phone call protects you.
Payment, cancellations, and weather
PaymentYour deposit is due when you book. The remaining balance is due in full five days before your event. If it isn’t paid by then, we may cancel or reschedule the booking. We keep the card used for the deposit on file for any additional fees.
All payments are non-refundableWe want to be upfront about this rather than have you find it in paragraph nine. Deposits and payments are non-refundable including for rain. What we do instead is reschedule: if you cancel, or if weather forces it, we’ll move your event to another date subject to availability.
The one deadline to remember: weather-related cancellations must reach us by 8:00 AM on the day of your rental to qualify for a reschedule. Set an alarm if the forecast looks rough.
We don’t control the weather, and we won’t gamble with it. We may cancel or reschedule before delivery if severe weather is coming, and we may pick equipment up early if conditions change during your event. If we pick up early, you get to reschedule within 30 days. Extreme temperatures, high winds, rain, snow, thunder, and lightning all count.
Once it’s delivered and acceptedIf the equipment is delivered and you’ve accepted it, choosing not to use it doesn’t generate a refund.
Damage, cleaning, and fees
Ordinary wear and tear is on us that’s just the cost of running a rental business, and we don’t nickel and dime anyone for it. What’s on the renter is damage from misuse: cuts and tears in vinyl or netting, overloading, exceeding capacity, or contamination from anything on the “nothing goes inside” list.
| Situation | Fee |
|---|---|
| Spilled food or drink, or use of foreign substances | $50 |
| Excessive cleaning | $150 |
| Negligence or damage to equipment | Full repair cost |
| Damage beyond repair or permanent staining | Full replacement cost |
| Returned check (insufficient funds) | $75 + balance |
| Service call caused by an electrical issue on site | Additional charge |
This one genuinely protects you. Look everything over at delivery and tell our team right then if you spot a pre-existing issue, defect, or missing part. If nothing is reported before the crew leaves, the equipment is considered to have arrived in perfect condition which means anything found later is billed to the renter. Thirty seconds of looking saves the argument.
Two things to handle before your date
Call 811 at least three business days before your event. Anchoring means driving stakes into the ground, so underground utilities have to be marked first. This is the renter’s responsibility, and we’re not liable for damage to unmarked or mismarked lines irrigation, water, gas, or electrical. It’s free, it takes one phone call, and it matters.
Sort out your power. Each unit needs its own 110/120-volt, 20-amp circuit within 100 feet of the setup spot, and no cords other than ours may be used. If you need a generator, it has to be one of ours personal or borrowed generators aren’t permitted on our equipment. The full setup breakdown is worth reading before you book:
Read: What Your Yard Needs Before We Deliver
Where it can and can’t go
Units have to sit on a smooth, compatible surface grass or a hard top surface like a driveway both work. They can’t be set up on rough ground: rocks, brick, glass, or anything jagged. On grass we anchor with stakes; on hard surfaces we use sandbags, which carries an extra charge, so tell us which you have before we load the trailer.
Overnight rentals
Unless we’ve agreed otherwise, equipment is picked up the same day it’s dropped off. If you’ve booked an overnight rental, the unit needs to be in a secured location, and when it’s not in use it must be deflated, covered, and the blower moved indoors somewhere secure.

Questions we get a lot
Do I really have to sign something to rent a bounce house?
Yes every rental, every time. It protects you as much as it protects us, because it puts our responsibilities in writing right alongside yours.
Where do I sign it?
The contract is attached at checkout when you book online, already filled in with your details, your date, and your units. You sign electronically about a minute on your phone.
What if it rains on my party day?
Let us know by 8:00 AM the day of your rental and we’ll reschedule you for another date, subject to availability. Payments are non-refundable, so the reschedule is how we make it right. If we have to pick up early because of weather, you can reschedule within 30 days.
Can I get a refund if I cancel?
Deposits and payments are non-refundable under any circumstances. What we can do is reschedule your event for another available date just get in touch as early as you can.
Do I need to call 811 before my party?
Yes, at least three business days ahead. We anchor with stakes driven into the ground, so underground utilities need to be marked first. It’s free, and it’s the renter’s responsibility under the agreement.
Can my dog be in the yard during the rental?
Pets need to be kept away from the equipment for the whole rental period, and no animals are allowed in or on a unit at any time. Please have the yard picked up and the gate secured before we arrive. Claw punctures and tears are billed to the renter at repair or replacement cost, so it’s worth keeping them separated.
Can we do fireworks or sparklers at the party?
Not near the equipment. Keep fireworks, sparklers, cold sparks, grills, fire pits, and open flame at least 100 feet away, and get everyone off the unit before anything is lit. Inflatables are vinyl and nylon they melt and spread flame fast, and embers travel. Fire damage is billed at full repair or replacement cost.
Do you provide someone to run the bounce house?
Not automatically. You’ll need at least one adult supervising each unit. If you’d rather we staff it, we can just arrange it when you book so it’s on the invoice.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry a liability insurance policy covering our services and equipment. Ask any rental company this question a real one will answer it without hesitating.
What happens if the unit gets damaged?
Ordinary wear and tear is on us. Damage from misuse tears, overloading, or contamination from food, drinks, silly string, paint, or mud is billed to the renter at repair or replacement cost, plus $50 for spills and $150 for excessive cleaning.
Questions before you book?
Call and ask. We’d rather answer twenty questions now than have one surprise on party day.
